Lego Loki vs Lego Palpatine
"Just because something isn't a lie does not mean that it isn't deceptive. A liar knows that he is a liar, but one who speaks mere portions of truth in order to deceive is a craftsman of destruction."-Criss Jami
Lego Palpatine: Lego Star Wars' least helpful Jedi.
Lego. One of the biggest toys in the world, and with that largeness comes cross promotion! Some of the biggest series have Lego variants, and for our purposes today, Star Wars and Marvel. Yet even in the world of fun and whimsy like Lego, villainy must still creep up and try to conquer. So with two Lego baddies in the ring why don't we find out who'd win a DEATHBATTLE...blog.
Before We Begin...
Lego doesn't exactly have a concrete timeline, so basically everything is taken into consideration. Ranging from the shows, to every game, the Lego sets themselves, books, etc for both, cause why not, there's only HOW MANY LEGO STAR WARS SHOWS!? Buckle up friends, we're going for a wild ride.
Background
Lego Loki
In Lego form, Loki is mostly similar to his comic and movie backgrounds, being adopted by Odin, is a Frost Giant, dislikes Thor, incredibly handsome, and deems himself as the rightful heir to the throne of Asgard, using any number of tricks and deceptions to do it. Although he's not 1-1 with the other Loki variants, such as the time he tricked Doctor Doom into summoning the cosmic being Galactus so Lokki could mind control them and eat earth, and anyone in asgard who opposes him. In other stories, he's controlled villains using his Norn frosts, tricked Thanos, and once even became an Avenger, maybe showing even loki has some good in him.
Lego Palpatine
Lego Palpatine is mostly like his non-Lego counterpart, taking over the Galactic Republic, creating the Galactic Empire, corrupting Anakin to the dark side, and playing good as chancellor Palpatine. But due to Lego shenanigans, he does have differences, such as making a school, going on summer vacation, getting a cool time crystal, and even taught his troops some very cool dance moves.
Experience/Skill
Lego Loki
Loki is a mastermind in planning and trickery, orchestrating big events like Galactus coming to earth, and huge villain break outs, along with tricking the likes of Doctor Doom and Thanos. He's not a shabby fighter either, being able to hold himself against Thor, who's a warrior that's trained for countless years, along with the rest of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Lego Palpatine
If Palpatine doesn't scheme, I don't know what does. He's taken the over the Galactic Republic and tricked the Jedi, even the best Jedi not seeing through his ruse. He's also gone through extreme training to get where he is, and in combat skill, could match some of the most experienced Jedi, even being considered one of the best Lightsaber fighters in the galaxy.
Lego Loki
Norn Frosts
They may look like just glowing snowballs, but these are actually one of Loki's most powerful weapons, able to control anyone he hits with it, along with giving them more power, he can throw more to stack the effect if they resist. His mind control can also tamper with less conventional consciousness, such as that of machines, or Galactus himself.
Scepter
Loki's magic scepter is the main way he uses his magic, firing out beams of energy, and assists him in controlling minds.
Casket of ancient winters
Allows Loki to fire out potent beams of ice, that freeze whoever is unfortunate enough to be caught in the crossfire.
Cosmic Cube
The Cosmic Cube grants Loki a variety of abilities, able to summon a shield, summon minions, make bananas, and turn people into frogs.
Lightsaber
As the most iconic weapons in Star Wars, the Lightsaber needs little introduction. In Lego form, it's still shockingly deadly, being able to sear through foes like butter.
Ships
Palpatine has many different ships to fly across the galaxy, usually equipped with weaponry, such as missiles or lasers.
Death Star
As the infamously powerful weapon of the Empire, the Death Star still remains it's ability to completely destroy a planet in a single shot, although it requires some preparation and man power to get it working.
Being one of the wackier tools Palpatine has picked up, he can use these crystals to travel through time.
Abilities
Lego Loki
Illusions
Loki's illusion powers are pretty impressive, able to make clones of himself and make himself look different, his illusions can even be potent enough to have tangible effects, such as his clones being able to attack you, or giving himself other people's weapons and abilities, like Tony's suit and Hulk's body.
Respawns
In most Lego games, including the Marvel ones, characters have dialogue that suggest that once they die, respawns actually occur afterwards.
Telekinesis
A common trick in the God of mischief's book is disappearing, only to reappear somewhere else, being effective for dodging and distraction if used effectively.
Loki can sit comfy in Asgard and watch Earthrealm from there, being able to throw objects into earth, and even pause it as if it was an actual show.
Lego Palpatine
The Force
While the Force luckily isn't as insanely complicated as it is in extended material, the Lego iteration still has a variety of applications. It goes from the mundane, like picking up objects and popping popcorn, to the insane like living on after death as a Force Ghost, which in Lego can still interact with the world. The Force also enhances one's mental capabilities massively past the average, allowing for mind reading, enhanced senses, and even precognition. Palpatine's speciality is Force Lightning, which lets him shoot lightning and can be formed into a force field. The Force's strongest ability is Broadway Force, obviously.
Power Absorption
In his fight with Rey, Palpatine was sapping her energy passively, weakening her over time.
Possession
When Palpatine is killed, his spirit will pass into the killer in order to truly immortalize the Empire.
Respawning
Remember Loki's respawning section? Well in Lego Star Wars, that's essentially the same.
Lego Loki
Strength
- Can drop rocks
- Can destroy cars
- Should be comparable to Doctor Strange, who could control the Nexus of All Realities, which contans the multiverse, and a single piece of it has infinite power
- Fights Thor, who defeated Man-Thing, who has the power of the Nexus
- Should be comparable to Dormammu, who can absorb Chronopolis, which is a collection of different universes
Speed
- Can reflect lasers, which are canonically light
- Can dodge and keep up with Thor, who flew to Asgard, which is a separate dimension
- Blitzes Tony, with him and his armors being able fly and run to other dimensions, such as the Dark Dimension, which has multiple universes in it
- Comparable to Captain America, who could block a time beam
- Comparable to Silver Surfer, who flew across space
Durability
- Can take hits from Thor and Hulk, who can destroy countries and hurt Galactus, who eats worlds
- On par with Magneto, who survived getting punched into orbit
- Comparable to Doom, who got punched into space
Strength
- Has bombs are able to flip ships
- Created a large blast of lightning that destroyed several ships
- Comparable to a building exploding
- Superior to Jek-14, who made a volcano erupt
Speed
- Basic Jedi and characters he's comparable to can consistently dodge laser-fire
- Characters he scales above can move and talk while in Hyperspace, which is light speed
- Should heavily upscale kids who could drive a ship halfway across the galaxy
Durability
- Should be well above a random normal person, who survived a spaceship exploding
- Was in a giant crash with many space ships
- Should scale to the destruction of the battle ship
- Scales above basic Storm Troopers Darth Vader, who have consistently survived the Death Star exploding
- Withstood the destruction of a building
Stats
Starting off with strength and durability, while Palpatine has many feats in the building ranges, his best showings are upscaling the many Death Star destruction feats from his Storm Troopers, which typically gets to a Country level. Meanwhile, Loki can surpass this scaling incredibly, as due to Galactus consuming worlds, he can be easily scaled to planetary levels, which is obviously far higher than serving the Death Star's destruction. And by scaling to Doctor Strange and Man-Thing, Loki can compare to the Nexus of All Realities, which contains the entirety Multiverse, placing Loki infinitely beyond Palpatine in power. Now, onto speed, both have many laser dodging/reflecting feats, yet their higher numbers show a clear difference in what they can contend with. Palpatine is far superior to crossing half the galaxy, but Loki is on par with going to other universes through sheer speed, not to mention Palpatine's is only a reaction speed feat, rather than direct combat.
Equipment/Abilities
Their abilities make this weirdly close. Respawns being canon to both series means that Loki's strength advantage alone couldn't kill Palpatine. Palpatine could potentially absorb Loki's power to even the odds, although considering Loki far surpasses anything in the Lego Star Wars verse, it is more questionable to say Palpatine could handle that power. Now Palpatine's main advantages are the time crystal and possession, potentially meaning if Loki kills Palpatine he could get taken over by Palpatine, or Palpatine could travel back in time to stop Loki's birth. But what does loki have to compete? Well, Loki might have just what he needs to counter that possession, his illusions being physical objects means they could kill Palpatine and Palpatine would just possess an illusion, or Loki could have a minion kill him, or use the Norn Frost to control him, and do this all from the safety of Asgard. Not to mention the fact the Cosmic Cube could also turn Palpatine into a frog.
Tertiary Factors
Both are incredibly smart planners, have tricked incredibly smart people, and fight on par with great foes. Although Palpatine's precognition and tricking past Jedi sensing puts him as a better master of deception, yet holding his own against Thor shows Loki as a superior fighter.
Conclusion
Lego Loki
Advantages:
- Stronger
- Faster
- Norn frost lets Loki use all of Palpatine's troops and weapons
- Counters possession
- Better fighter
- Can stay in asgard the whole time
Disadvantages:
- Doesn't have a solid counter to the time crystal
- Possession could count him out of the fight
Lego Palpatine
Advantages:
- Better deception
- Time crystal gives him a wincon
- Respawns, possession, and Force Ghosts let him keep going even if he gets one tapped
- Could potentially absorb lokis power
Disadvantages:
- Gets stat stomped
- Doesn't have a counter to transmutation
- Lacks resistance to mind manipulation
- Worse fighter
Whe Palpatine certainly was impressive, and could have potentially gotten past the strength gap, Loki's superior speed and variety of hax means when it comes to pulling off the win first, Loki had the pieces to build a perfect victory. The winner is...
