Vile vs Ridley

"Haters keep on hating, cause somebody's gotta do it."-Chris Brown

Vile: Megaman X's most savage Maverick.

Ridley: Metroid's Cunning God of Death.

Being a piece of shit, to some it's an art. People being good, or slightly annoying, you or breathing, can really piss you off, and you just gotta go hater mode. And these two definitely fit the bill of hater, from killing people close to them, or basically torture, they really don't treat the protagonists nicely, and hate never truly dies as they'll just keep coming back, again and again, form after form. So which purple perpetrator of painful power with a penchant for problematic prejudice will win in this DEATHBATTLE...blog.

Background

Vile

Starting as a SA-Class Maverick Hunter, he had an irregularity in his robot brain, which made him way more brutal than needed, and led him to basically being shelved. But after Sigma went evil, he was set free to cause as much destruction as he wanted. He encountered X, pretty handily taking him down until Zero showed up, causing Vile to retreat. Eventually encountering Zero and X again, this time taking out Zero with traps, and X soon after, but eventually, they break free, leaving X and Vile to have there first one on one fight, with this setting up for a grudge that'd have Vile persist through multiple deaths, destructions, and even going to hell, apparently? But no matter what, Vile swears he'll haunt X until the day he dies.

Ridley

Ridley was a high ranking Space Pirate, seemingly hailing from Zebes, he would lead a raid on a star colony for resources, and killing many humans in the process, but one thirteen year old girl tried to befriend him, with this warming his hear- oh wait that warmth isn't his heart, its his plasma breath, getting ready to kill her, but before he torched her, the girl's mother pushed her out the way, getting killed instead. Since he's Ridley, he didn't really care about he sacrifice, continuing to brutally kill anyone in his line of sight. To stop him, the girl's father sacrificed himself, blowing up Ridley and his ship in the process, leaving Ridley to eat human corpses to regain his cells. Years later he'd meet that little girl again, and he wanted to finish what he started, yet his superiors forced him to let her live so she could join the Space Pirates, only for her to end up fighting the pirates and freeing the prisoners. The girl eventually defeated Ridley where he stood, and with this, she went from just another human to kill, to one he'd slaughter under any cost, and the Cunning God of Death would keep going through death, cloning, mechanical enhancement, anything, all so he can finally kill that girl: Samus Aran.

Experience/Skill

Vile

Being a high tier Maverick Hunter, and a brutal one at that, Vile is obviously great at fighting, keeping up with those as skilled as X in combat. If clean fighting doesn't cut it, he'll commonly use traps if he knows he's outmatched, doing so for opponents like Zero. He's also a expert marksman, and knows how to operate machines like his armors with ease.

Ridley

While his appearance may lead you to think he's a mindless monster, Ridley, in reality, is a genius.  He's led huge troops of Space Pirates, and becoming like a temporary leader in Mother Brain's absence. His skill and tenacity has made him one of the most dangerous in the Space Pirate's ranks, killing countless people over the years. Brutality isn't all Ridley's good at however, as he's demonstrated the engineering capacity to independently build his robotic doppelganger.

Equipment

Vile

Napalms

Typically equipped to his leg, Vile has an assortment of explosives at his disposal. While typically following what you'd expect of bombs, he does have some specialized equipment, such as destroying enemy projectiles, leaving a trail of fire, or creating a whirlwind.

Vulcans

Strapped onto his arms, Vulcans act as gatling guns hidden in Vile's hands, and can fire bullets from his fingertips, with each enhancement having differing statistics.

Missiles

Firing out of his elbow, Vile can shoot missiles by detaching one of his hands. At the cost of more energy usage, Missiles pack more of a punch than Vulcans.

Rocket Punches

While not only being the coolest thing ever, these rocket punches shoot Vile's fist as a projectile, with variations granting piercing and homing capabilities.

Cannons

Mounted on top of his shoulder, Vile has a cannon that launch potent attacks at any oncoming foe, and possessing explosive functions, or spewing out five shots at once.

Lasers

Rather than a condensed shot, Vile's lasers are more like streams of powerful energy from his shoulder. Being useful for piercing shields, the range of a laser can be heightened, and by expending all of his energy, Vile can shoot a devastatingly powerful laser.

Cutters

Shot from his shoulder, Cutters are blades made from pure energy, being somewhat similar to a boomerang in their aerial function. Some notable variants can cut for extended time, and be fired two at once.

Balls

Coming out of his leg, Vile can fire orbs of energy that crawl across surfaces, with the balls being able to be split in two or projected as a destructive wave.

Flamethrowers

Among Vile's more powerful weapons, he can spew fire out from his legs. While primarily functioning as a powerful flamethrowing tool, it can also shoot out strong freezing gas and create a ball of fire made from nearby oxygen.

Ride Armors

Probably Vile's most iconic weapons, and for good reason. They're extremely powerful, to the point X can't even scratch them. Some variations of the armour can also be controlled remotely.

Ridley

Meson Bomb Launcher

A weapon he's used in his Meta Ridley days, and as the name suggests, it launches bombs. He also has a multi-missile system for some extra bombage.

Ultrathermal Flamestrike Projector

Another weapon from when he was Meta Ridley, this let him slam the ground and create waves of fire.

Phazon

Phazon is a highly radioactive substance, which can do well, let's just say a lot, because no fictional space energy can just do normal shit. Phazon can be used in the form of a beam, and is deadly enough to turn environments caustic and planets uninhabitable, it can also absorb people, much like Ridley himself. It can harm souls, and characters with less Phazon than Ridley such as Phazon enhanced Metroid or Dark Samus can regenerate from cells, or even just particles.

Abilities

Vile

Robot physiology

Vile obviously is a robot, and that does a little more than just make his skin metal. Being a robot, he has a brain of data and code which is likely how he's able to come back from what seems to be death, going into a new body, although repairs often require outside help. Being a robot also means he should be immune to attacks to things like a soul or mind. His desire in X8 to make a world for New Generation Reploids implies that his new body was possibly upgraded into a New Generation Reploid, but it’s never confirmed, nor has he displayed any of their abilities. But should possess all the same general powers of one. Which includes:
A Copy Chip which enables the user to take on the form of another Reploid using their DNA data, as well as access to all the same abilities they possess. The most notable form used by the New Generation Reploids being Sigma.
Complete and total immunity to all electronic viruses, including the Sigma Virus, as their Copy Chip allows the user to completely control their DNA.
Possible Invisibility as both Axl and Spider/Colonel Redips possess Copy Chips and are shown via their Hyper Modes (Stealth Mode and Trickstar) to be capable of temporarily rendering them invisible. Although this is not concrete

Summoning

By throwing out something from his hands, Vile can spawn enemies in for his benefit.

Electricity Manipulation

In one of his boss fights, Vile can shoot streams of electricity from his body from multiple angle, as shown above.

Ridley

Flight

Did ya think the wings were for show? He can fly through space at high speeds, and can even cross planet distances in a short timeframe.

Plasma Breath

Ridley's most iconic ability, he can shoot it in individual balls or as one giant beam, and can even imbue it with Phazon energy in his enhanced state.

Feats

Vile

Strength
  • Can destroy other robots
  • His fights with X and Zero Should make him comparable to:

Speed
  • Can dodge lasers
  • Through his fights with X and Zero, he should be comparable to:
    • The Mother Elf taking out the Sigma Virus quickly (498,678,322c)
    • Moving so fast a beyond light speed satellite blast looks frozen (4.6e6c)
    • Lumine destroying the sun, speed addition (124.7c)
    • Zero swinging his sword in tandem with lasers

Durability
  • From his fights with X and Zero Should be comparable to feats like:
  • Scales to his attack potency

Ridley

Strength

Speed
  • Can fly to other planets
  • Catches up to and outspeeds Samus' ship, which crosses galaxies (131,499,789,600c)

Durability
  • Should be comparable to his attack potency

Weaknesses

Vile

Vile is over confident obviously, he still believes he's better than X even if he's been defeated by him many times, and while his drive to not give up no matter what is commendable, with the wrong opponent it could lead to a permanent early grave.

Ridley

Ridley is arrogant, if you take a shot everytime someone on these blogs had something like that as a weakness, you'd probably be dead

Verdicts

Stats

Ridley has plenty of feats that certainly are impressive, such as the planet cracking or star freezing, with his very max getting to Small Star. But in comparison, Vile can scale to Solar System with the pocket dimension and sun busting feats, meaning Vile outstats Ridley pretty decently, although speed is a different story. Ridley can catch up to Samus' ship which gets to the hundreds of billions times the speed of light, meanwhile Vile can only get to the millions, even if we upscale him from classic series feats you can find in our Sonic vs Megaman blog, he's only mustering around 8 billion, which is closer, but still far.

Equipment/Abilities

Vile has plenty of ranged weapons that can help him deal with a flying foe, he could also potentially freeze him and send enemies to distract him. Unfortunately, Phazon. If a cell or even just a particle of Ridley, is left Ridley could regenerate going off of what other Phazon users have done. Phazon can also absorb people, although this takes awhile, and we have only seen this absorb nonbiological forms, so Vile could overpower this, or swapping to a new body meaning neither have a solid way to actually take down the other.

Tertiary Factors

Both are certainly smart, with Vile being a high ranking Maverick Hunter and Ridley is a Space Pirate, respectively. Vile is somewhat  better in combat, because while Ridley certainly has shown to be a great fighter, Vile has shown more ability to fight people on his level, and his job has more need for fighting knowledge. But outside of combat, Ridley is certainly more intelligent through his lead over the Space Pirate's, as well as his technological innovation.

Conclusion

Vile
Advantages:
  • Stronger
  • Being a robot lets him resist a lot
  • Drinking problem
  • Hater Supreme

Disadvantages:
  • Slower
  • No solid way to put Ridley down for good

Ridley

Advantages:
  • Faster
  • Phazon regeneration
  • Got in Smash
  • Hater Supreme

Disadvantages:
  • Weaker
  • No Solid way to put Vile down

So uhhh, Ridley doesn't have a way to get past Vile's durability, but Vile can't really kill Ridley due to the regeneration and speed, sooo I guess this makes a tie. Hopefully they don't combine their hating, as I'd hate to be Samus and X in that scenario. It appears that the winner the winner is...

Both?
